How does the traffic network work, and does it hurt my SEO?

We get asked by people who've been burned by link schemes before, which is fair. What is the "More videos" row on my site, who decides which sites show up in it, and is it going to look like a link network to Google?
It's a visitor trade. Your site shows videos from partner sites of the same orientation, theirs show yours, and every click is counted both ways at the redirect, a visitor once a day per pair of sites. Partners sharing your niches come first, then those who sent you the most visitors over the past week. New sites get two reserved spots for their first 21 days.
For SEO it counts for nothing, in either direction. Every card goes through a nofollow redirect that crawlers can't follow, so it trades people and never links. You can switch it off, exclude niches or block a site from the Activity tab. The traffic network page has the settings and how a WordPress site joins.
