How does the rewriting of video titles and descriptions work?

We hear it in two versions. Why are my titles different from the ones on the tube, and can I turn that off? Or the opposite, can I write my own and will the machine overwrite them?
The catalog's videos run on hundreds of sites with the same title and description, and served as is they'd make your site duplicate content. So every video gets its own title and description written for your site before it goes online. It's not optional and it costs no credits, it runs just ahead of the publishing schedule.
You can rewrite any video yourself in the Content tab. Your text wins and the automatic pass never touches it again. Videos imported from a WordPress site are the exception, they keep their original text until you choose to rewrite them, at one credit per video.
