What we shipped in September

The forum is new, so this first changelog looks back over the whole month instead of one week. From here on it's one thread a week, even on quiet weeks. A reminder before the list gets long, Jimp is in launch and you can't buy a plan online yet. Everything below is live in the product, and the beta in October is where it gets used for real.

WordPress migration. If you run a tube on WordPress, you declare it in the dashboard, install a small plugin, and Jimp takes your posts with their titles, checks every video against its source before publishing it, and copies the files your WordPress hosts itself (MP4s, previews, thumbnails) into storage that streams them. The Jimp site stays out of search engines until your domain points at it, and on that day every old address answers with a 301 to its new page. Dead videos are never published, their old address goes to their category. The migration page of the docs says which WordPress setups the importer reads today.

Rewriting imported videos. Imported titles are usually the feed's, the same as on hundreds of other sites. One button rewrites all the live ones for your site, at one credit per video, and the screen works out what you have and what's missing before anything starts.

Logos. Describe the logo you want, or leave the field empty, and you get four proposals for 10 credits. A second model reads every render back and redraws it when the site's name comes out misspelled, which happened more than we expected.

Cam platforms. At the start of the month a site could show Chaturbate rooms and nothing else. Now it's Chaturbate, BongaCams, Stripchat, CAM4, LiveJasmin, CamSoda and xLoveCam, each on your own affiliate code, with the site's name passed as the sub-ID so you can tell your sites apart in your stats. Some rooms now play inside the page instead of sending the visitor away.

Traffic network. Sites of the same orientation show each other's videos in a "More videos" row and count the visitors they trade, both ways, at the redirect. It's nofollow and closed to crawlers, so it trades visitors and never links. A WordPress site can join with the Jimp Network plugin, free and without a subscription. Details in the network docs.

A fifth template. Reely shows one video at a time, full screen, in a vertical feed you swipe through. Its home page runs on vertical clips only, so it's a different animal from the other four, and the templates page says what that changes.

Yearly billing and euros. The pricing page has a yearly option, ten months paid for twelve. Euro prices, VAT included, are built for the EU and the EEA and switch on together with online payment.

Faster storefronts. Pages of the sites are now cached at the edge, per site, so a visitor gets a page that's already built instead of waiting for it to render.

Blog and forum. The blog has its first articles on SEO for adult sites, with more scheduled through the autumn. And you're reading the other thing we opened this month.
