The Studio

Your own videos: access, uploading, the free tier rules, and what opens next.

The Studio (Dashboard → Studio) holds the videos that are yours. They belong to your account, not to a site: a deleted site does not take them with it.

The Studio is for creator accounts. A webmaster account hosts no video and has no access to it: if you produce your own videos, open your creator space from My plan.

The Studio opens in stages. Today, you request access, upload your videos and prepare their pages. Showing them on your sites and selling them to fans open with fan payments; what follows says so each time.

Requesting access

Before the first upload, we check who is publishing. It is a legal obligation (2257 records) and the only way to keep the platform clean. You apply from the Studio:

  • you upload as a person or a company, with your legal name and your country;
  • you say where the content comes from: your own, a studio you represent, or licensed;
  • you give a rough volume and, if you like, links to what you already publish;
  • you confirm five points: everyone on screen is an adult, has consented, you hold the rights, you keep 2257 records, and you accept the terms.

The request goes from submitted to approved or rejected, and a person on the team reads it. Online identity verification is coming soon; until then, we do it ourselves.

Uploading

Drop a video. It goes straight to storage from your browser, then it is processed (HLS packaging, poster, preview, timeline) and shows as ready a few minutes later. The title is derived from the file name, cleaned up: my-holiday-video_final.mp4 becomes "My holiday video". A file name with nothing to say (12541423-hd_1920_1080_25fps.mp4) leaves the title empty, and an untitled video is published nowhere until you name it; the Studio says so next to the field.

The free tier

Without a subscription, the Studio lets you try it:

  • 3 videos at most, each up to 2 GB and 30 minutes;
  • each video stays online for 30 days, then it is erased 30 days later;
  • the player carries the Jimp logo.

If you subscribe in the meantime, your videos come back and no longer expire.

Title, description, tags

Everything is edited in place and saved as you type. The description will feed the video's SEO page, and the tags will decide which niche and tag pages of your sites it can appear on.

What opens next

  • On your sites: your videos will slot into a video site's grids, mixed with the catalog, with their own page. A site of your own, only for your content, will become possible.
  • To fans: a locked video will show a teaser, then a one-off purchase or a subscription. A fan will create an account with an email code or Google, and the same account will follow them across every Jimp site. Prices and the commission will be announced before opening.

Deleting

Deleting removes the video everywhere at once. The files are purged within the hour, the original included: Jimp keeps your original only as long as the video exists.
